Shroud exhibit coming to Middleton church

MIDDLETON — An exhibit about the Shroud of Turin will be on display at St. Bernard Church, part of Holy Cross Parish, 2015 Parmenter St., Middleton, from Tuesday, May 26, to Tuesday, June 2.

The Shroud of Turin has been venerated for centuries as the actual burial cloth of Jesus and is widely considered to be the most studied object in the world.

The faint, full-body image appears to show marks of fire, water, and blood.

Many studies over the years have presented evidence proving its authenticity.

In the exhibit called “Who is the Man of the Shroud?”, you are invited to explore faith, science, Scripture, and hope.

Through immersive displays, you’ll learn more about the science behind the Shroud of Turin and the moving story that it tells about the Passion, death, and Resurrection of Jesus.

Developed by Othonia, a team of Shroud specialists within the Institute of Science and Faith at the Pontifical University Regina Apostolorum in Rome, the exhibit presents what scientists, historians, and scholars have discovered about the Shroud — and extends an invitation to encounter.

Othonia’s hope is simple: That exploring the Shroud draws people closer to Jesus.

Its exhibits have reached people around the world in big cities and small towns.

The Shroud challenges us to look with the eyes of both reason and faith.

Come see and believe.
