The Diocese of Madison has announced the creation of a new merged parish — St. Dominic Parish — effective August 8.

The merger of the parish unites the church communities of St. Patrick Church in Benton, St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City, Holy Ghost Church in Dickeyville, St. Francis de Sales Church in Hazel Green, Immaculate Conception Church in Kieler, St. Mary Church in Platteville, and St. Joseph Church in Sinsinawa.

St. Rose of Lima School in Cuba City, Holy Ghost-Immaculate Conception School in Dickeyville and Kieler, and St. Joseph School in Sinsinawa are also part of the parish.

Fr. Gregory Ihm will serve as the pastor, with Fr. Thomas Kelley and Fr. Joseph Bellamkonda serving as the parochial vicars.

Permanent Deacons Lee Eggers and Lawrence Tranel will serve as deacons.

A Mass of installation for Father Ihm will be celebrated at a later date.
