HUBERTUS — On Saturday, Oct. 5, all young Catholics are invited to the 13th Annual “Fire On the Hill!” — the largest youth event in the state of Wisconsin.
Last year, over 1,500 teens and young adults poured onto the grounds of the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Help of Christians, popularly known as “Holy Hill.”
This beautiful fall event includes bonfire, speakers, sports, and the sacraments. Massive tents are set up for the speakers, music, and Eucharistic Adoration.
The theme this year is “Believe!” The day is a great opportunity for young people in the Year of Faith to discover the precious pearl of faith given by our Lord.Milwaukee Archbishop Jerome Listecki will speak and preside over Mass. In addition, this year’s line-up includes speakers Fr. Michael Schmitz, Jackie Francois, and music ministry by Ike.
Fr. Michael Schmitz serves as director of youth and young adult ministry for the Diocese of Duluth, Minn., and chaplain for the Newman Center. Jackie Francois is an internationally known Catholic speaker, singer, and songwriter.
Ike Ndolo provides music ministry in his Arizona parish, and carries his mission work to Mexico and as far as China.
This free event for teens is compliments of the Carmelites at Holy Hill.
