MADISON — The Diocese of Madison has postponed the Youth 2000 Retreat initially scheduled for November.
The retreat, which is centered on the Mass and Eucharistic Adoration, has been a popular event the two years it has been held in Madison. It was held most recently in April.
“It now seems that trying to pull off another Youth 2000 retreat so soon following the one last spring may have been just a little too optimistic,” wrote Office of Evangelization and Catechesis staff in an e-mail sent September 24. “Having seen the fruits of Youth 2000 (including the 2009 and 2010 retreats here in our diocese), and remaining convinced that Youth 2000 presents one of the very best tools available to us as we work to help young people ‘meet Jesus Christ in a life-changing way,’ we look forward to November 4 to 6, 2011, when Youth 2000 will once again return to the Diocese of Madison.”
Those planning on bringing groups to Youth 2000 are urged to look into retreats offered at Camp Gray this year. Camp Gray is the diocesan camp, located in Reedsburg, and offers retreat options throughout the year. Camp Gray has three upcoming Confirmation prep retreats in 2011 that are open to all: January 14 to 16, March 18 to 20, and April 8 to 10.
