Mercy will be the focus at the fall meetings of the West Dane, Sauk, and Columbia North Vicariate Councils of Catholic Women (CCW).
Affiliated with the Madison Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (MDCCW), the regional councils provide an opportunity for prayer, service, and fellowship. MDCCW Co-Presidents Sue Koch and Ellen Martin will participate in the meetings. All women are invited to attend.
Columbia North Vicariate
MARKESAN — Holy Family Parish will host the Columbia North Vicariate at its St. Joseph Church here on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Registration begins at 10 a.m. The business meeting will take place at 10:30 with Mass at 12 noon. Fr. Paul Eruva, Holy Family pastor, will speak on “The Face of Mercy,” following a mid-day beef and turkey dinner.

West Dane Vicariate
ASHTON — St. Peter Church is the site of the West Dane Vicariate meeting Tuesday, Oct. 25, beginning with welcomes by Joan Pregler, president of the St. Peter CCW, and Linda Ripp, president of the vicariate CCW and member of the linked parish of St. Martin of Tours.
Ripp, secretary of the MDCCW, will lead a reflection on “Instruments of Mercy” with Rosa Ropers, Waunakee, past MDCCW president, at 1:15 p.m. Following the reflection, MDCCW Co-Presidents Sue Koch, Berlin, and Ellen Martin, Westfield, will speak.
Fr. Tait Schroeder, St. Peter pastor, with attending priests of the West Dane Vicariate and spiritual advisor Msgr. Duane Moellenberndt, Sun Prairie, will celebrate Mass at 2:30 p.m., followed by tea and refreshments and the recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

Sauk Vicariate
PLAIN — St. Luke Parish here will host the Sauk Vicariate fall meeting Tuesday, Oct. 25. Registration is at 12:30 p.m., followed by the business meeting.
Six members of the Sisters of Mary Morning Star (SMMS) will provide the program at 2:15 p.m. using prayer, chant, and song to talk about how powerful the gift of prayer can be in people’s lives. They will also bring some of their handiwork for sale, including sewing, ceramics, leather crafts, and calligraphy. The Sisters reside at the Immaculate Heart of Mary convent in Monona and have become an integral part of the parish and school.
Following the program, participants will recite the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3:30 p.m. and gather for a meal at 4 p.m. Fr. John Silva, pastor, will celebrate Mass with MDCCW spiritual director Msgr. Duane Moellenberndt as homilist.
