VERONA — The Widows of Prayer is a new group which began in Appleton and was approved within the Diocese of Madison.
It began when a group of women made a decision to devote themselves to a ministry of prayer for priests and vocations to the priesthood. They chose to foster devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and to reach out to widows with compassion.
Members are expected to spend time each day in some formal prayer that could include Holy Mass, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, recitation of the Rosary, morning and evening prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours, and mental prayer.
One way to get “in touch” is by attending the group‘s prayer gatherings that include Mass and Rosary for priests on Thursday mornings and Mass and Eucharistic Adoration on Saturday mornings.
