BLOOMINGTON — “Remembering the ‘Classic TV’ Shows” is the theme of St. Mary Parish variety show performances which will take place at St. Mary School gym, 535 Congress St., on Sunday, March 22, at 1 p.m.
St. Mary’s Parish Players have been busy recreating some of the characters from the Mayberry TV series. Other performances will feature the St. Mary’s “Sisters” group; the White family; the River Ridge Dance team; and skits, musical, and dance performances.
Members of the audience can be part of the fun and have a chance for a door prize if they come dressed as a favorite TV character. For those who like to take pictures, there will be a photo area with a red carpet and props for fun pictures.
The famous roast beef dinner won’t be held this year because of the repairs that have been taking place since a fire in the church basement. But, starting at 12 noon, people will be able to see the work that has been completed since the fire.
In place of the dinner, there will be concessions, featuring sandwiches, hot dogs, bars, popcorn, chips, root beer floats, pop, and other beverages.
The proceeds from the variety show and the concessions will benefit St. Mary School.
