Two men from diocese to be ordained in Rome
Two seminarians from the Diocese of Madison, Timothy Mergen and Enan Zelinski, will be ordained to the transitional diaconate on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 9:30 a.m. at the Altar of the Chair in the Basilica of St. Peter in Rome.

The spirituality and sights of the Easter season were still present at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Monona as two men — Peter Lee and Grant Thies — were ordained to the transitional diaconate by Bishop Robert C. Morlino on April 18.

Steve Petrica ordained to diaconate
Steve Petrica, a former Anglican priest who was received into the Catholic Church in 2006, was ordained to the transitional diaconate by Bishop Robert C. Morlino during the Cathedral Parish’s 11 a.m. Mass at St. Patrick Church on Sunday, Feb. 10.

It was a solemn yet joyful evening as Bishop Robert C. Morlino ordained Vincent Brewer and Garrett Kau to the Order of Deacons during a Mass celebrated on Friday, May 25, in the chapel of the Bishop O’Connor Catholic Pastoral Center in Madison.
David Johannes to be ordained to diaconate
MADISON — David Johannes will be ordained to the transitional diaconate by Bishop Robert C. Morlino on Friday, May 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel at the Bishop O’Connor Catholic Pastoral Center in Madison.
Johannes has attended St. John Vianney Theological Seminary in Denver, Colo., for the past six years.
His home parish is the Cathedral Parish in Madison. Johannes graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was active in the Knights of Columbus at St. Paul’s University Catholic Center. He served as grand knight of the UW council, which won the Most Outstanding College Council Award at the national level for two years.
Through the Knights of Columbus, Johannes became involved as a volunteer with the Apostolate to the Handicapped of the Diocese of Madison. He became a server and commentator on the weekly television Masses sponsored by the apostolate on Channel 3.
