Jefferson parish and school mourns death of graduate
JEFFERSON — St. John the Baptist School eighth grade teacher Margie Schels admits “it was a rough week.”
She explained, “A very dear student, who just graduated from St. John the Baptist School in June, died on the evening of September 3. Kena (Makena Suzanne-Lynn Eighmy) had battled leukemia for four years, and God decided he needed her at home,” said Schels.
“It has been rough for adults and students alike, but we continue to be a loving community that supports one another through the toughest of times.

Kindness Revolution starts in Waunakee
WAUNAKEE — “We are starting a Kindness Revolution, today,” Principal Liz Goldman told the students of St. John the Baptist School in Waunakee.
The school held a Kindness Revolution pep rally on September 6 as part of the start to its school year.
The pep rally was attended by St. John students, along with some of their parents and other family members.
Memorial service for aborted children to be held in Dane
DANE — On Saturday, Sept. 14, pro-life Americans throughout the country will gather at the gravesites of aborted babies and other memorial sites dedicated in their honor for the seventh annual National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children.
Solemn vigils will be held at these sites to commemorate the more than 60 million children who have lost their lives to legal abortion since 1973, and to remind our society of the humanity of the unborn child.School of Healing to be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish

Organ concert focuses on Marian music

Attorney to speak on immigration issues
MADISON — Asylum seeker or illegal alien? Attorney Sara Dady, an expert on immigration law, will respond to this question when she addresses the issues surrounding the current influx of immigrants from Central America.
She will speak on Wednesday, July 17, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the St. Dennis Parish Center, 413 Dempsey Rd.
Dady, Rockford, Ill., has been practicing family-based immigration law for over 13 years. Her cases involve obtaining visas for victims of domestic violence and other crimes, asylum law, and deportation defense.
