A dream more than 15 years in the making has finally become a reality.
A standing-room only crowd attended Mass in the new St. Cecilia Church in Wisconsin Dells for its Solemn Mass of Dedication on August 28.
Attending the Mass of Dedication of the new St. Cecilia Church in Wisconsin Dells was a very emotional experience for me and my husband.
As friends of St. Cecilia’s late pastor, Msgr. Felix Oehrlein, we were so happy to see his dream of a new church become a reality.
Before it begins its official life as a place of worship, St. Cecilia Church in Wisconsin Dells will serve for one afternoon as a musical venue.
On May 26, St. Cecilia Parish in Wisconsin Dells proudly welcomed and blessed its new and restored bells and installed them in the newly constructed bell-tower.
“Every person who comes to the Dells and wants to worship the Lord God in spirit and in truth will find a house of God that moves their hearts in that direction,” said Fr. Eric Sternberg, pastor of St. Cecilia Parish in Wisconsin Dells on its new church, currently being built.
Much like Jesus’ Ascension into heaven — celebrated on Sunday, May 17 — the 5 p.m. Mass at St. Cecilia Church on that day was more than an ending, it was the beginning of a new journey.

St. Cecilia Parish in Wisconsin Dells is most appreciative of the diocesan offices for their support during the recent loss of our pastor, Msgr. Felix Oehrlein. These offices were most understanding and truly concerned for our welfare.
“Love is what it’s all about,” Msgr. Felix Oehrlein told high school youth attending the Resurrection 2004 rally in Wisconsin Dells. “Jesus reminds us to keep his commandments. Jesus came here and lived among us and lives with us today. He lives in the Church and you and I are that Church.”
