St. Rose helps men’s shelter
CUBA CITY — The St. Rose of Lima School Family in Cuba City raised money and made blankets for the Almost Home Men’s Shelter in Dubuque, Iowa.
Clare from Clare Cares in Dubuque started Operation Warm Toes- Grateful Hearts for Christmas for the 12 men staying there. She reached out to different organizations to help her. St. Rose was happy to be of help for this great cause.

The massive rose windows of the medieval Gothic cathedrals were not only marvels of engineering and artistry; they were also symbols of the well-ordered soul.
The pilgrim coming to the cathedral for spiritual enlightenment would be encouraged to meditate upon the rose of light and color in order to be drawn into mystical conformity with it.

St. Rose School celebrates 100 years
CUBA CITY — In September 1916, St. Rose School opened its doors to 128 students in four classrooms.
The Sinsinawa Dominicans were instrumental in starting the school and educating the students. In the original school, they resided on the third floor.
The first school was next to the old church which stood where the present day school is now.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Fr. Michael Emil Klarer, who died on Sunday, April 24, 2016 in Monroe at the age of 62.
Silver Rose visits Diocese of Madison
MADISON — On June 20, Knights of Columbus District 47 hosted a Silver Rose Prayer Service at St. Joseph Church.
In 1960, the Columbian Squires (the official youth organization of the Knights of Columbus) started a project to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas, by running a silver rose from Montreal, Canada, to Monterrey, Mexico.
There are now six roses that crisscross the country and end up in different locations. The one exhibited at the Madison service will end up at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.
