MADISON — In a nearly empty oratory at Holy Name Heights in Madison, Bishop Donald J. Hying of Madison celebrated Mass on March 25, the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord.
With concelebrant Vicar General Msgr. James Bartylla, seminarian Luis Reyes as server, and Office of Worship Director Dr. Patrick Gorman as cantor, the Mass was livestreamed via Facebook and YouTube and viewable to the public, unable to attend Masses during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

From September 26 to September 29, the Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima made stops in the diocese as part of its U.S. Tour for Peace.
Corpus Christi Mass, procession to be held at Durward’s Glen
BARABOO — A Corpus Christi Mass and procession will be held on Sunday, May 29, at 11:30 a.m. at Durward’s Glen Retreat and Conference Center. This is the 103rd year that the Feast of Corpus Christi has been celebrated at Durward’s Glen.
The Mass will be celebrated at the outdoor Holy Family Altar by Fr. Pedro Escribano from Divine Mercy Parish, Sauk City. Mass will be followed by a Eucharistic procession starting at the hilltop.

The first day of the month dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
May 1 was a chance for one Catholic community in the Diocese of Madison to honor the Blessed Mother, give thanks for her intercession, and pray for the year ahead.
The prayers to Jesus through Mary started that day at St. Clement Church in Lancaster, the county seat of Grant County in southwestern Wisconsin.
Enrollment in the Brown Scapular
The first special event of the day began at the 9 a.m. Mass. Following his homily, Pastor Fr. John Sasse enrolled the recent parish second grade First Communicants into the Brown Scapular.
In what was a display of family faith togetherness, parents of First Communicants were also enrolled into the scapular at the same time.
The Brown Scapular is worn as a sign of devotion to the Blessed Mother.
A promise made by Mary is that those who wear the scapular when they die will not suffer the pains of hell.
Volunteers sought for Corpus Christi at Durward’s Glen
BARABOO — The 102nd annual Corpus Christi Mass and procession at Durward’s Glen will take place on Sunday, June 7, at 11 a.m.
The Mass will be celebrated at the outdoor Holy Family altar by Fr. Pedro Escribano.
The Knights of Columbus will serve a picnic-style meal after the Mass and procession.

After Mass, the Eucharistic procession will begin from the hilltop and include Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, flower girls, candles, incense, local musicians, flags, a crucifix, and the Blessed Sacrament carried under a decorative canopy.
