ASHTON — St. Peter Parish and School will hold its inaugural Planting Seeds for Our Future Benefit Dinner. It will be an evening of festivities, fun, and fellowship and an opportunity to remember lifelong parishioner and friend, Al Ripp.
The dinner will be held on Saturday, April 28, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Dorf Haus Supper Club, 8931 Cty. Hwy. Y, Sauk City (Roxbury).

ASHTON — St. Peter Parish in Ashton is a drop-off center spot for the Cross Catholic Outreach Box of Joy program the week of November 4 through November 12.
The drop-off center hours at St. Peter will be: November 4 (6:30-7:30 p.m.), November 11 (2-4 p.m.), and November 12 (10 a.m.-12 noon). Boxes will be collected in the church gathering room, 7121 CR K, Middleton 53562. A team of volunteers will be there to greet people.
MADISON — The Madison Catholic Woman’s Club will host its annual Benefit Dessert Party and Fashion Show by Talbot’s with the theme, “Autumn’s Palette,” on Monday, Sept. 11. This is the club’s major fundraiser with proceeds going to charitable projects.
All women of the diocese and their guests are invited to join the club for dessert, fashions, raffle, and prizes at St. Peter Catholic Church Social Center, 5001 Sherman Ave., Madison. Doors open at 11 a.m. for raffle and seating; dessert will be served at 11:30.
I have always loved the Acts of the Apostles and have often recommended it to those who are approaching the Bible for the first time. Filled with colorful narratives, adventure, martyrdom, persecution, journeys by sea, etc., it makes for stimulating reading indeed.
But I love it especially because it shows us the excitement of being a follower of Jesus. Long before there were parishes and dioceses and the Vatican and other institutional structures, there was this band of brothers and sisters who were so overwhelmed and energized by the fact of the resurrection that they went careening around the world and to their deaths with the message of Jesus.
MIDDLETON — St. Peter Catholic Elementary School, 7129 CR. K, Middleton, will be hosting an open house event on Wednesday, Feb. 1, from 9:15 a.m to 11:30 a.m.
The event is open to all prospective families interested in learning how St. Peter Catholic School promotes a culture of scholarship, service, and salvation.
The morning includes an informational meeting with the principal, an opportunity to observe classes in session, time to talk individually with teachers in their classrooms, and a discussion on St. Peter Catholic School’s mission, spiritual opportunities, and an overview of the school programs.
