Holy Family Parish hosts Light of the World Retreat
MARSHALL/WATERLOO — Holy Family Parish in Waterloo and Marshall held a Light of the World (LOTW) Retreat for its members from May 16 to 19.
This is the first in a series of retreats that will be held. The LOTW Evangelization Process promotes parish outreach to welcome back those who have strayed from the Church while inviting all those who seek a deeper, more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
Beyond a weekend retreat, Light of the World supports participants’ long-term faith journey, with small group support, continuing spiritual education, and engagement as disciples.
All Saints Parish celebrates completion of building project phase II
BERLIN — All Saints Parish celebrated completion of their phase II building project, which included a new parish hall with a spacious, well-equipped kitchen and an administrative wing.
During the weekend of April 26 and 27, Pastor Fr. Jerome Maksvytis blessed the new additions and joined his parishioners in exploring the new spaces.
Multiple-purpose use
The parish hall is designed to be utilized for multiple purposes, including basketball hoops that are attractively hidden overhead with retracting doors. The floor is a sports carpet with the basketball court outlined in the design of the carpet.
Immaculate Heart of Mary hosts Hispanic Heritage Day on May 3
MONONA — Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) School, 5913 Schofield St., is hosting the second annual Hispanic Festival on Saturday, May 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. The festival celebrates the heritage of the Hispanic community at IHM and in the Diocese of Madison.
Children at IHM School have participated in a Hispanic dance group all year. They will be performing the traditional dances they have learned and be dressed in authentic costumes. Entertainment will also be provided by other Hispanic dance groups from the area. A dinner of homemade traditional foods, such as tamales and salsa, will be provided along with drinks.
Feast of St. Philip the Apostle to be celebrated at Highland church
HIGHLAND — The Feast of St. Philip the Apostle will be celebrated with a Mass on Sunday, May 4, at 1 p.m. at St. Philip Church.
Through the efforts of many supporters, St. Philip Church — built in 1888 — has been well preserved. It is a significant part of the SS. Anthony and Philip Parish community and the Highland community as a whole.
Fr. Marquette Living Faith Series
MONTELLO — The next Fr. Marquette Living Faith Series will be held on Wednesday, April 30, at 6:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Parish in Montello.
Speakers will be John and Sarah Ramthun, founders of the non profit organization 6:8 from Sauk Prairie. 6:8 is local non– profit organization that strives to transform communities by making service personal through intentional community. 6:8 is supported by the four pillars of: Experience (Micah 6:8), Education (Mark 6:8), Exhortation (Isaiah 6:8), and Embodiment (1 Timothy 6:8)
Blessed Sacrament Parish hosts evening prayer and lecture
MADISON — Blessed Sacrament Parish will host evening prayer and a lecture to commemorate the Feast of St. Catherine of Siena on Sunday, May 4, at 7 p.m.
The lecture, “The Joy of the Gospel and the Baptismal Vocation: The Witness of Catherine of Siena,” will be presented by Sr. Mary Catherine Hilkert, O.P., professor of theology at the University of Notre Dame.

Blessed Trinity Catholic School to hold gala featuring dinner, music, and live auction
DANE — Blessed Trinity Catholic School (formally known as St. Michael Catholic School) will host a gala in memory of Roseanne Mills on Sunday, May 3, beginning at 6 p.m.
The first annual gala will feature an evening of music, fine dining, and a live auction and a memorial tribute to Roseanne.
Divine Mercy Spanish retreat
MAZOMANIE — The Hispanic ministry of Divine Mercy Parish in Sauk City will be hosting a Hispanic Retreat for Lent at St. Barnabas Church, 410 Cramer St. in Mazomanie, on Saturday, April 5, and Saturday, April 12, beginning at 9:30 a.m. and concluding with a Hispanic Mass at 6:30 p.m.
Planned for the retreat are talks, time to share ideas and ask questions, music, sharing of food, and more. Childcare, complete with child activities, will be provided.
