The Diocesan Pastoral Council (DPC) held its first meeting with Bishop Donald J. Hying on October 12 at Holy Name Heights. The meeting was preceded by a Mass celebrated by Bishop Hying, at which he thanked members for their involvement in the DPC.

Women in Columbia North Vicariate meet
BERLIN — The Council of Catholic Women Columbia North Vicariate will hold its fall meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at All Saints Parish in Berlin. Registration begins at 3 p.m., followed by a business meeting, Mass at 5, and dinner at 6.
The 7 p.m. program will feature Janie Janis, renowned speaker and author, who will charm the audience with her Irish wit and move them with her deep compassion for people and real life struggles.
Society to hear talk on restorative justice
MADISON — Ron Johnson, coordinator of the Dane County Community Restorative Court, will be the guest speaker of the St. Thomas More Society meeting on Friday, April 21, at 7:30 a.m., at St. Patrick Church Hall, 404 E. Main St.

Johnson, originally from Milwaukee, is a former teacher and principal, as well as a father of seven. His career includes working with programs that address gang prevention and intervention, youth violence, youth development, and employment.
