Neocatechumenal Way Ministry begins series of talks at Marshall parish
MARSHALL — Neocatechumenal Way Ministry will begin a series of talks Monday, March 14, at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Parish in Marshall.
Neocatechumenal Way Ministry is a team of missionaries who give a series of talks on the Catholic faith. The program will include talks/catechesis every Monday and Thursday through May 5.
“Catechesis” is a proclamation of the Good News of Christ to the people, not just as lectures but also as an experience of the significance of what it means to be a Christian in today’s times.
Holy Family Parish hosts Light of the World Retreat
MARSHALL/WATERLOO — Holy Family Parish in Waterloo and Marshall held a Light of the World (LOTW) Retreat for its members from May 16 to 19.
This is the first in a series of retreats that will be held. The LOTW Evangelization Process promotes parish outreach to welcome back those who have strayed from the Church while inviting all those who seek a deeper, more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
Beyond a weekend retreat, Light of the World supports participants’ long-term faith journey, with small group support, continuing spiritual education, and engagement as disciples.
Holy Family finds unity in their ‘newborn’ parish
The “newborn” parish of Holy Family held a Mass on July 22 in honor of the completed merger of St. Joseph Parish, Waterloo, and St. Mary of the Nativity Parish, Marshall. Bishop Robert C. Morlino celebrated what he praised as a “beautiful” liturgy, with pastor Fr. Michael Radowicz concelebrating.

Amoroso Homenaje de despedida a la Hermana Ana Luisa Cespedes O.P.
JEFFERSON — El pasado Sábado 11 de Junio, con motivo del retiro de la Hna. Ana Luisa Céspedes, se llevo a cabo una fiesta sorpresa para despedirla y agradecerle por todo su trabajo y dedicación a nuestras comunidades. Esta celebración se hizo en el Riverside Park de Watertown. La fiesta fue organizada entre las comunidades de Jefferson, Marshall y Watertown, comunidades que la Hna. Ana Luisa atendía desde hace 16 años.
Los invitados comenzaron a llegar desde las 12:00 p.m. al salón. A la hermana se le cito a la 1:30 p.m. en el parque para una “junta” con el comité guadalupano de la Iglesia de Watertown.
Cerca de la hora, haciendo el menor ruido posible, comenzamos a prepararnos para la llegada de la Hermana. En cuanto entro todos de pie y con gran alegría gritamos a una sola voz “Sorpresa” y le dimos un fuerte aplauso. La Hermana estaba muy contenta y asombrada, comento que ya sospechaba algo pero nunca imagino todo lo que se le tenía preparado.

From January 1908 to the present date, St. Mary of the Nativity Parish has been a very special place of worship and friendships for the 336 parish families who over the years have shared their time, talent, and love for our Lord with everyone who enters its doors.
