Clarifying the fairness issue
Dear Friends,
Believe it or not, I frequently try to avoid weighing in-on certain situations. This column is the bishop’s communication with the faithful of the Diocese of Madison. Any wider circulation reaches beyond the intention of the bishop. |
Each year we are invited to reflect on the whole of our Lenten journey in the context of Jesus’ temptations in the desert. I know that when I’m in communion with the Holy Father, by God’s grace and for the good of the diocese, I’m right on target.
Need health care coverage, but not tax-funded abortions
To the editor:
As the manager of a free clinic, I see the growing needs of the uninsured every day. It is my hope we have health care coverage for everyone soon, as I believe it is a right of every citizen.
I do not want abortions covered by the proposed legislation and paid for with tax dollars. Abortions kill and can cause a person to feel a great deal of guilt and regret. It is heartbreaking to see people enduring such enormous self-inflicted grief!
