President Manion marks rescue plan anniversary with gratitude
This week marks the one-year anniversary of the American Rescue Plan, the federal legislation that included stimulus funds that helped keep colleges and universities open and operating during the COVID-19 pandemic. Students across the country, including students at Edgewood College, received direct support under the American Rescue Plan.
Centennial Mass at Blessed Sacrament Parish
MADISON — On February 12, 1922, the first Mass of Blessed Sacrament Parish was celebrated at the St. Joseph Chapel on the Edgewood College campus as the Dominican friars awaited approval for the construction of their new church.

MADISON — Edgewood College has updated the start of the Spring 2022 semester for in-person undergraduate courses to Monday, Jan. 24.
Masks required indoors at Edgewood College
Madison — Edgewood College announced students, faculty, staff, and visitors will be required to wear masks when inside campus buildings. The updated protocol comes in response to a national trend of an increase in COVID-19 cases, attributed to the Delta variant.

MADISON — Edgewood College has announced the decision to complete the remainder of the spring semester fully online.
Edgewood College had been on spring break, and classes resumed fully online on March 23.
Remembering Rabbi Swarsensky’s example
As I’ve been hearing about the recent incidents of violence fueled by anti-Semitism in our country, I remembered the life and example of the late Rabbi Manfred Swarsensky.
I had the privilege of meeting the smiling, soft-spoken rabbi a number of times, primarily when he served as Chair of Jewish Learning while teaching at Edgewood College in Madison. He was a friend and colleague of the late Sr. Marie Stephen Regis, OP, a Dominican Sister who served on the faculty at Edgewood College.
Dorothy Day’s granddaughter visits Madison
MADISON — “If you’re admiring my grandmother, you’re not paying attention.”
Those were strong words said by the granddaughter of Dorothy Day, but perhaps true meaning one shouldn’t focus on the women herself, but the work that needs to be done, and what that means for you in your life.
Day is known for being a driving force behind the Catholic Worker Movement, which tackled issues of social justice. Day’s cause for sainthood is underway with her currently being designated as a “Servant of God”.
Edgewood College inaugurates new president
Friday, Oct. 24, marked the beginning of a new era at Edgewood College.
Dr. Scott Flanagan was inaugurated as the college’s seventh president in a ceremony at the Todd Wehr Edgedome on the campus.
Edgewood College students bridge borders
MADISON — During winter break, while many college students are hanging out with hometown friends or catching up on sleep, a group from Edgewood College is spending some of that time helping others.
From January 2 to January 13, almost a dozen students and their instructor are in the state of Chiapas, Mexico helping with two service projects.
