Chapter of Legatus being chartered in Madison for Catholic business leaders
MADISON — LeAnna and Brendan Wall, owners of Hatch Building Supply in Madison, have a special new monthly “date night” as members of Legatus.
This “date night” includes a Mass, followed by food, fellowship, and a presentation on some aspect of their Catholic faith. “We both have enjoyed doing more with our faith, having a date night out, and making business connections,” said Brendan Wall. The Walls are members of Blessed Sacrament Parish in Madison.
Annual Catholic Appeal gives back
When the Annual Catholic Appeal began in 2009, the Diocese of Madison had hopes of being able to give back to diocesan parishes and parish schools through grants of funds received over the goal amount. The 2015 Annual Catholic Appeal was the first year this reality came to fruition.

On June 24, Bishop Robert C. Morlino of Madison ordained Fr. Joseph Baker to the priesthood at St. Maria Goretti Church in Madison.
St. Peter School, Ashton, celebrates 150 years
ASHTON — In this age of instant gratification and throw-away mentality, some things do stand the test of time.
As proof, St. Peter School in Ashton celebrated 150 years of continuous and successful Catholic education with a reunion on June 17.
More than 500 alumni and guests, current school families and parishioners, as well as past and current staff attended the event.

Reverend Fathers, Father Joe’s parents Mark and Kay, Fr. Joe’s family, friends, and faithful of the Diocese of Madison, it is a great joy to be here. It is truly life-giving to be present as Father Joe Baker offers his first Mass in Thanksgiving to God.
Though persevering through many years of seminary studies is a great accomplishment, we are not here to celebrate the achievement of Father Joe. Moses told the people today: “God is your praise . . . He who has done for you those great and awesome things that your own eyes have seen.”
