VERONA — The St. Christopher Parish Council of Catholic Women (CCW) will host the spring West Dane Vicariate meeting at St. Andrew Church, 301 N. Main St., Verona, on Tuesday, March 23, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
West Dane Catholic women to meet October 16
MARTINSVILLE — All are welcome to attend the fall West Dane Vicariate Council of Catholic Women (CCW) conference to be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, hosted by St Martin of Tours Parish CCW at the church and parish center. The theme is “Soup for the Soul.”
Alice Bannier, co-president of the St. Martin of Tours CCW, said all ages are invited to hear Dr. Taysheedra Noll speak on the Women’s Place and Resource Center in De Forest, a new nonprofit center that offers women services that will allow them to become assets to the community. Its mission is “A place where women can come post crisis and receive spiritual, personal, and professional development with the intention of improving their life situations.”Catholic women hold fall gatherings
Meetings of the Council of Catholic Women (CCW) are scheduled in Columbia North, Grant, and West Dane Vicariates this month.
These half-day meetings provide women an opportunity for prayer, service, and learning together. Women are invited to attend with others from their parish. If their parish isn’t affiliated with the CCW, women may join individually. Membership information is on the Madison Diocesan CCW web site at mdccw.com

MARTINSVLLE — The West Dane Council of Catholic Women (CCW) will meet Tuesday, Oct. 8, at St. Martin Parish Center, 5959 St. Martin Cir., Cross Plains. Registration is from 8:30 to 9 a.m., followed by business meeting. The theme is “Made in God’s Image.”
Rona Neri-Bergmann and Genna Eaton from the Waunakee Neighborhood Connection (WNC) will speak at 10, focusing on “seeing God in everyone we meet and treating everyone with respect.”

Grant Vicariate meeting October 11
HAZEL GREEN — St. Francis De Sales Parish, 2720 N. Percival St., will host the fall Grant Vicariate CCW meeting on Friday, Oct. 11.
Registration and exhibits start at 9 a.m., followed by business meeting. Fr. Lorin Bowens, Lime Ridge, along with attending priests, will celebrate Mass at 11, followed by lunch and program by Clowns for Christ.
St. Jude Marian Guild celebrates 100 years
BELOIT — In 1911, when St. Jude Parish was only three years old, the well-respected founding pastor, Fr. Joseph Hanz, organized the Senior Ladies Guild, one of three such organizations he formed within the parish.
One hundred years later, its name now changed to the Marian Guild Council of Catholic Women, the group continues to be a constant force offering dedicated service to the parish. It is one of the oldest continuously serving women’s groups in the diocese.
Emma Josephine Berning, of Sinsinawa, dies
Emma Josephine Berning, 98, of Sinsinawa, died peacefully Monday, November 29, at Stonehill Franciscan Services in Dubuque, Iowa.
