MADISON — “Faith in Action” was the theme of the 13th annual Catholic Charities (CC) Awards Dinner held October 30 at the Marriott Madison West. Proceeds support CC programs for families and aging persons.
Jane Feller, chair of the CC Board of Directors, welcomed the guests, saying the Awards Dinner is an opportunity to highlight Catholic Charities’ mission, hear success stories, and recognize the agency’s work. “We also recognize our clients and volunteers. They are living examples of Catholic social teaching,” said Feller.
Day offers time to reflect on reconciliation
Priests, parish staff, and parish leaders gathered October 21 for the annual Diocesan Leadership Day, which this year bore the theme “Forgiveness and Reconciliation in the Church and in the World.”
Poynette parish celebrates centennial
POYNETTE — St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Poynette celebrated the centennial of the dedication of the first Catholic Church in Poynette recently.
The parish was dedicated by Archbishop Sebastian Messmer of Milwaukee on February 10, 1908. Bishop Robert C. Morlino presided at a 4 p.m. Mass, followed by a dinner, on Sunday, Oct. 19.

Morlino to honor the farmers and the rural community and pray for the harvest after a troubled growing season.
Respect Life Sunday marked by Mass, Rosary March
Thirty-five roses were presented during the offertory at the Respect Life Mass at St. Patrick Church, beginning the Liturgy of the Eucharist on this Respect Life Sunday with a reminder of those who have lost their lives by abortion, euthanasia, executions and violence, especially the millions killed since abortion was legalized in the United States in 1963.
