MONROE — The Apostolate for Persons with Disabilities-Diocese of Madison will hold its annual Advent/Christmas Celebration on Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Monroe High School gymnasium.
Bishop Robert C. Morlino will preside at the Mass opening the day at 10:30 a.m. The Madison Diocesan Choir will lead the singing. Lunch and appearance by Santa Claus will also be featured.Tag: apostolate
Grant helps Poynette parish build disabled accessible restroom
POYNETTE — Parishioners off all physical abilities now have access to a restroom at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Poynette.
The recent opening of the family restroom provides access and space for everyone, especially those who have to use a wheelchair to get around.

Information Session introduces disability ministry in diocese
MADISON — The Apostolate for Persons with Disabilities-Diocese of Madison is holding an Information Session to introduce disability ministry in the Diocese of Madison and two initiatives starting this year for parishes.
The Information Session will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Holy Name Heights-Ground South East(GSE) Room, 702 S. High Point Rd.

MADISON — Parishes throughout the Diocese of Madison are taking advantage of a program developed and sponsored by the Apostolate for Persons with Disabilities-Diocese of Madison (Apostolate to the Handicapped).
Recently, nearly 50 people gathered at Blessed Trinity Parish in Lodi to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of parishioners with disabilities as part of a Blessed Margaret Celebration.

TV Mass marks fifth anniversary of Monsignor Campion’s death
MADISON — The weekly Mass airing on WISC-TV on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 7 a.m. will commemorate the fifth anniversary of the death of Msgr. Thomas Campion.
Monsignor Campion was the founding director of the Apostolate to the Handicapped of the Diocese of Madison in 1967. He served as the director until he died on November 12, 2010.
Msgr. Larry Bakke, the current apostolate director, will preside at the TV Mass, which will include many persons involved with the apostolate over the years.
Ladies of Divine Mercy second year to kickoff
PINE BLUFF — The second year of the Ladies of Divine Mercy will kick off on Friday, Sept. 18, with speaker Fr. Christopher Gernetzke, newly ordained priest of the diocese.
Ladies of Divine Mercy, modeled after the popular Knights of Divine Mercy, is a prayer apostolate which meets the third Friday of each month, September through April, at St. Mary of Pine Bluff Church, 3673 Co. Hwy. P, Cross Plains. The events are open to all women. Nursing mothers are welcome to bring their nurslings. The January and April events will be combined events with the Knights of Divine Mercy.
