MADISON — The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is offering the Madison Catholic young adult community opportunities to grow in faith and meet others through service.
Help in the Lacy Garden
All young adults are invited to help plant, weed, harvest, and dig in the Lacy Garden from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday evenings.
The garden, at 5897 Whalen Rd. in Fitchburg, provides more than 20,000 pounds of fresh produce for the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry each year.
Evicted book group
Young adults are also invited to participate in a four-week book group on the new release, Evicted, by Matthew Desmond.
Evicted captures the first-hand stories of struggling Milwaukee families, depicting the complicated nature of poverty.
Desmond’s book has been chosen as the UW Go Big Read for the coming year.
The book group will meet from 7:15 to 8:15 a.m. at the Panera on West Washington Ave. starting in late June.
Meal program
The Madison Catholic young adult community is also invited to prepare and serve dinner for the meal program held at Grace Episcopal Church in Madison in late July.
More information on this opportunity will be forthcoming.
