CUBA CITY — The St. Rose of Lima School Family in Cuba City raised money and made blankets for the Almost Home Men’s Shelter in Dubuque, Iowa.
Clare from Clare Cares in Dubuque started Operation Warm Toes-Grateful Hearts for Christmas for the 12 men staying there. She reached out to different organizations to help her. St. Rose was happy to be of help for this great cause.
They raised extra money that was used to purchase bus passes for the men as well. This helped to bridge the transportation needs of the men. St. Rose made blankets in multi-age teams in which the older students helped the younger students.
The groups also made Christmas cards for the men. St. Rose School students made 10 blankets, and the St. Rose religious education students made two blankets.
