MADISON — With construction almost completed at Holy Name Heights — formerly Holy Name Seminary and the Bishop O’Connor Catholic Pastoral Center in Madison — there are many new and exciting changes that have taken place throughout the building over the past two years.
One thing that remains the same though is the statue of Mary that resides in the south courtyard of the building.
Over 50 years ago, the statue was donated to Holy Name Seminary by Msgr. Joseph H. Gabriels, who was the pastor at Holy Redeemer Parish in Madison.
Mary has been a symbol of faith, purity, and humility and has watched over the courtyard and those who visit.
Restoring statue
Currently, because of the wear and tear of being in a fountain for years, Mary is in the process of getting restored so she can continue to inspire future generations and bring beauty and peace to the south courtyard at the new Holy Name Heights community.
