BARABOO — “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
The theme of this year’s men’s retreat is “Mission Focused” — based on Matthew 28:19-20.
Bishop Donald J. Hying of Madison and Fr. Tim Mergen, parochial vicar at St. Paul Catholic Student Center in Madison will be leading the charge as the featured speakers.
This is the 16th annual Men’s Retreat hosted by St. Joseph Parish in Baraboo.
On Saturday, April 30, all men throughout the Diocese of Madison and surrounding areas are invited to the retreat at Camp Gray, located at E10213 Shady Lane Rd., Reedsburg.
The retreat begins at 8 a.m. with Mass celebrated by the bishop and concludes by 3:30 p.m.
The talks by Bishop Hying and Father Mergen will focus on Acts 6:1-7 and John 6:20.
The Scripture reading from Acts highlights the need for assistants to help grow the faith community.
The Scripture reading from John tells of the story of when Jesus walked on the water in the midst of a storm. It highlights the Lord’s call for courage in the midst of uncertainty.
After the talks, there will be opportunities for small group discussion, praying the Rosary together, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and a time for Eucharistic Adoration.
The day will include a continental breakfast and a grilled steak lunch.
To register, visit www.baraboocatholic.org/adult-faith-formation or contact the St. Joseph Faith Formation office at 608-356-5353.
The cost per person is $35 for early registration, or $40 for those who register after Friday, April 22.
