SINSINAWA — Sr. Lucille Marie Frost, OP, died Dec. 6, 2014, at the Dominican Motherhouse, Sinsinawa. Her religious name was Sr. Mary Johann.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Dec. 11, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sinsinawa Mound with Fr. Brian Wilk as main concelebrant, followed by burial in the Motherhouse Cemetery.
Sister Lucille Marie was born December 6, 1919, in Kenmer, N.D., the daughter of Phillip and Christina (Schmaing) Frost. She made her first religious profession as a Sinsinawa Dominican on August 5, 1950, and her final profession August 5, 1953.
Her parents, three sisters, and two brothers preceded her in death. She is survived by two sisters, Geri Stratman and Rita Bartels.
In the Diocese of Madison, Sister Lucille Marie taught at Edgewood Campus, Madison, 1969-1971 and 1976-1977. She served as principal at St. Dennis School, Madison, 1979-1985; assistant dean in the Graduate Studies program at Edgewood College, Madison, 1985-2002; Vicar for Religious for the Diocese of Madison, 1996-2003; support staff at Edgewood College, Madison, 2002-2004; and volunteer at St. Dennis Parish, Madison, 2004-2006.
