SINSINAWA, Wis. — Sr. Kathleen Brady, OP, died Aug. 10, 2018, at St. Dominic Villa. Her religious name was Sister Marie Amy. The funeral Mass was held at the Dominican motherhouse, Sinsinawa, Aug. 17, 2018, followed by burial of the cremains in the Motherhouse Cemetery.
Sister Kathleen made her first religious profession as a Sinsinawa Dominican Aug. 4, 1968, and her final profession Oct. 13, 1973. She taught for 19 years and served as a principal for two years and pastoral associate for four years. Sister Kathleen ministered as a chaplain for 15 years and with hospice programs for five years. She served as a family caregiver for two years. Sister Kathleen served in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Washington, Montana, and Colorado.
In the Diocese of Madison, Sister Kathleen taught at St. Patrick, Madison, 1970-1971.
Sister Kathleen was born Aug. 23, 1948, in Milwaukee, the daughter of James and Joyce (Lodde) Brady. Her parents; stepfather, John Brady; and a sister, Pamela Olsen, preceded her in death. She is survived by two sisters, Amy Kline and Carrie Brady; four brothers, James Brady, Timothy Brady, John Brady, and Daniel Brady; and her Dominican Sisters with whom she shared 60 years of religious life.
