BOSCOBEL — A “Life in the Spirit Seminar” will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Boscobel — Corpus Christi Parish — the week of June 17.
This seminar is composed of a series of talks designed to lead people through the basic message of salvation and help them yield to the action of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
It is a retreat experience that will help attendees grow in understanding and experience of the work and gifts of the Holy Spirit in our personal lives and in the life of the Church. It will be a week of teaching, guidance, sharing, and prayer, leading to a new and deeper relationship with Jesus.
The evening sessions will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on June 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, and on Sunday June 23, at 10:30 a.m. (following 9:30 a.m. Mass). A potluck meal will follow Sunday’s program.The seminar includes talks, music, personal testimonies, small group discussion, Adoration, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and Mass.
Specific program topics will include God’s Love, Salvation, New Life, Receiving God’s Gifts, Growth, and Transformation in Christ.
The speakers for the sessions are:
- Fr. Greg Ihm, parochial vicar at St. John the Baptist Parish (Waunakee) and St. Mary of the Lake (Westport).
- Fr. Miguel Galvez, parochial administrator at Queen of All Saints Parish (Fennimore).
- Fr. Rick Heilman, pastor at St. Mary Parish (Pine Bluff), St. Ignatius Parish (Mt. Horeb), and Holy Redeemer Parish (Perry Township).
- Fr. Peter Auer, parochial administrator at Corpus Christi Parish.
- Michelle Nilsson, associate director of the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis for the Diocese of Madison.
The Life in the Spirit seminar is intended for anyone who desires a new awareness and deeper relationship with God, especially through the working of the Holy Spirit, and to be more fully spiritually equipped in building the Church. Spiritually mature young people are welcome to attend with their parent(s).
Participants are invited to pray for the “Baptism of the Holy Spirit” which was evident in the Upper Room as the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Church at Pentecost. It is an invitation to “stir into flame” in a renewed Pentecost the gift of the Holy Spirit that was given at Baptism and Confirmation.
Cost for the seminar is a “free will” or personal donation. Childcare is available upon request. Seat of Wisdom Diocesan Institute Credits are available for participants who complete the seminar.
