MADISON — This month, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul- Madison welcomed Elisha Santiago-Barudin as the organization’s first senior director of human resources.
She will spearhead key initiatives in talent management and employee development while supporting a continued positive work environment across the non-profit’s program and retail operations.
“I am thrilled to embark on this meaningful journey with the St. Vincent de Paul-Madison staff,” Santiago-Barudin said. “I am eager to contribute my expertise to serve a vital mission in our community.”
Unique journey
With an extensive background in HR spanning over two decades in manufacturing, retail, and non-profit sectors, Santiago-Barudin brings a wealth of knowledge to the multi-faceted operations of St. Vincent de Paul-Madison.
Her journey has been uniquely shaped by her dedication to service, starting from her roots in Brooklyn, N.Y., followed by high school in Chicago, and her education at Wellesley College in Massachusetts.
Alongside her husband of 23 years, she takes immense pride in raising three wonderful daughters, while remaining steadfast in her commitment to making a positive impact on the world.
Her commitment to making a difference is evident through her involvement on various boards, including the Beaver Dam Hospital Foundation, Rotary Club of Beaver Dam, Beaver Dam Area Community Theater, and the YMCA of Dodge County.
Spirituality and service
The spirituality and service of St. Vincent de Paul-Madison particularly appealed to her.
“After delving into the profound spirituality of St. Vincent de Paul, I am inspired by his example of selfless service and love for others,” Santiago-Barudin said. “A cherished quote of his that resonates with me is, ‘Love is inventive to infinity.’”
