SINSINAWA — The Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters invite the public to an open house event at Sinsinawa Mound Sunday, Feb. 8, from 1 to 4 p.m. featuring tours of the heritage exhibit and Fr. Samuel Mazzuchelli exhibit, refreshments, and a 2:30 p.m. prayer service to celebrate the Year of Consecrated Life declared by Pope Francis for 2015.
Nearly 1,000 Catholic Sisters live and work in the tri-state area.
Catholic Sisters have been an integral part of education, health care, and helping those in need in the area since 1843.The Year of Consecrated Life is intended to “make a grateful remembrance of the recent past and embrace the future with hope,” said Cardinal Joao Braz de Aviz, the Prefect of the Vatican Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.
