LA CROSSE — The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse promotes the pro-life message in various ways. The focal point is the Memorial to the Unborn, dedicated last year on the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe (December 12).
On Friday, July 31, Archbishop Raymond L. Burke will bless a statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe holding pre-born children. The blessing occurs on the one-year anniversary of the shrine church dedication. The archbishop is blessing the statue at 10 a.m., one hour before the Mass commemorating the anniversary.
Those wishing to be present at the blessing should arrive at the Shrine Pilgrim Center no later than 9:30 a.m. It is a 15-minute walk to the Shrine Church and the Memorial to the Unborn. Golf cart service is available to those with special needs on a first-come, first-served basis.
