JANESVILLE — To mark the 30th anniversary of the death of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, Servant of God, a special celebration of “Masses Around the World” will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 9.
The Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen Foundation has organized this global event to promote and support the canonization of Archbishop Sheen, who, if canonized, would be the first American born priest to be declared a saint.
A Mass at St. Patrick Cathedral in New York City with Archbishop Timothy Dolan presiding will be broadcast on EWTN starting at 4 p.m. CST on December 9.
A Mass will be offered for the Sheen canonization at St. John Vianney Church in Janesville on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 12:15 p.m. with Fr. Randy Timmerman presiding.
