MADISON — The Diocese of Madison is pleased to announce our plan for Seat of Wisdom Diocesan Institute in the 2020-2021 year.
In the face of a global pandemic and nationwide shut down, we have learned that the need to focus on Christ and our hope in him is essential.
So in light of our need to grow in faith, Seat of Wisdom is back and will be available for both basic coursework and advanced courses beginning this fall and throughout this school year with necessary health and safety adaptations.
Basic coursework on Scripture and the Catechism
The basic coursework typically is offered on Saturdays each month throughout the year from October to May.
In light of COVID-19 and many in-person restrictions/cautions, the diocese will offer the Basic Curriculum in an online format in the evenings — offering one course each month.
Courses include topics on Sacred Scripture, the four pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and evangelization and catechesis.
Advanced coursework on New Testament writings
The advanced coursework will be offered in the typical manner on Saturdays at Holy Name Heights in Madison, but for a shorter time period with health and safety protocols put into place.
The classroom at Holy Name Heights will allow for appropriate social distancing and the limited class time will eliminate a prolonged exposure to others.
Courses in the advanced curriculum will be focused on the New Testament scriptures, including a day for each Gospel, Acts of the Apostles, a study of St. Paul, a study of St. Peter, and the Book of Revelation.
Trono di Sabiduria
For our brothers and sisters in the Latino community, we are also offering our complete basic and advanced courses in Spanish offered through the Trono di Sabiduria program offered at Holy Name Heights as well.
To review dates/times and to register for all courses in both English and Spanish, visit our Seat of Wisdom Diocesan Institute page on the diocesan website at www.madisondiocese.org/seatofwisdom
All are welcome to attend.
