MADISON — Saint Paul’s Catholic Student Center celebrates the great vocation of motherhood with a mom’s retreat on Saturday, August 10.
Jesus tells his beloved disciple, “Behold your mother,” and from that hour that disciple took her to his home. Our Heavenly Father gave us a perfect mother in Mary, who guides us on the path to Heaven. The Behold Your Mother retreat is a day for moms to grow in devotion and imitation of Mary, inviting her into their hearts and homes.
The retreat on Saturday, Aug. 10, will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The day consists of time for fellowship, meditations on motherhood from Father Eric Sternberg, silent prayer, Eucharistic Adoration, and the chance to attend daily Mass and Confession. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
All mothers are welcome to attend and invite friends. Babies are also welcome to come along with mom.
Registration is open online now and will remain open until Monday, Aug. 5.
Saint Paul’s Catholic Student Center is the Catholic home for UW-Madison students. Here, countless students discover authentic friendships and freedom through the sacraments, and form habits of daily prayer.
The Behold Your Mother retreat was born out of the desire to support moms in their vocations and provide those essential elements of fellowship, prayer, and sacraments.
“Thank you for hosting and giving us moms an opportunity to come together, reunite, and go forth fighting the good fight!” said a 2022 participant.
Saint Paul’s Catholic Student Center is excited to welcome mothers from across the state of Wisconsin to reflect on the beauty and gift of motherhood.
