MCFARLAND — How do we show love to those who are hostile to us because of our Christian beliefs? How do we persevere in the faith when others would like to eliminate God and religion from this country?
What can we do to bring the light of Christ’s truth and mercy to the attacks on our religious liberty?
The most important thing we can do is to recognize that these are spiritual battles and we must counter them with prayer — the Holy Rosary being the greatest weapon in our arsenal.
Christ the King Parish in McFarland is holding Tuesday Rosary Rallies through October 2016 at its outdoor Marian Garden.Rosary Rallies
At the kick-off rally on June 21, Fr. Steve Smith, pastor, gave an overview of the challenges we are currently facing and led the praying of the Holy Rosary.
Each subsequent rally has begun with our Catholic response to a challenge to our religious liberty from Pope Francis, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and other sources, followed by a related prayer intention.
At the kick-off, participants from four diocesan parishes were blessed with perfect weather. The parish chapel is available in the case of inclement weather.
All invited
After Labor Day, the rallies will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Rosaries and prayer guides are available.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please bring a chair if possible.
