MADISON — The St. Thomas More Society of Madison invites all attorneys, public servants, and other legal professionals and their families to join Bishop Donald J. Hying of Madison for the Red Mass on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 5:30 p.m. at St. Paul University Catholic Center at 723 State St. in Madison.
Following Mass, guests are also invited to attend a reception on the top floor with drinks and hors d’oeuvres.
The St. Thomas More Society of Madison was formed in 2006 to foster in its members and lawyers generally the high standards of ethics and professional responsibility exemplified by the Society’s patron, St. Thomas More.
Madison, as a business and government center, is home to thousands of attorneys and public servants.
Those entrusted with the serious responsibilities of law and government have many opportunities to show the love of Christ to members of the community but also face many challenges in exercising their authority fairly and without regard to self-interest.
The Society promotes the study and application of theology, philosophy, and jurisprudence so that practitioners of law may better apply eternal truths to the solution of everyday legal problems.
