DETROIT, Mich. — Fr. Leo Petrimoulx, OFMCap, a Capuchin friar and priest, died on January 1, 2018, at the age of 82.
He was born on September 21, 1935, the son of Norbert Petrimoulx and Rosanna (nee Helie) in Cadillac, Mich.
He was invested in the Capuchin habit in 1959, perpetually professed his vows in 1964, and was ordained a priest in 1966.
He ministered at St. Francis Parish in Milwaukee, and in 1968, he was assigned as a missionary to Nicaragua, where he served until 1989.
From 1989 to 1996, he served as an associate pastor in Chicago. He also lived and ministered in Madison, Wis., and Saginaw, Mich. He retired to St. Bonaventure Monastery in 2015.
He is survived by sisters Pat Tahy, Marilyn Hamilton, and Kay Berry, and brothers Larry, Ray, and James.
Funeral services and burial were held at St. Bonaventure Monastery in Detroit.
