SINSINAWA — Dominican Sister Margaret McHale (Celsus) died August 13, 2010, at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, Wis. The funeral Mass was held in Queen of the Rosary Chapel at Sinsinawa on August 17, followed by burial in the Motherhouse Cemetery.
Sister Margaret made her first religious profession as a Sinsinawa Dominican August 5, 1952, and her final profession August 5, 1955. She ministered as a teacher for 50 years, serving in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Alabama, Wyoming and Illinois.
In the Diocese of Madison, Sister Margaret taught at St. Rose, Cuba City, 1955-1962.
Sister Margaret was born March 31, 1932, in Chicago, the daughter of Harry and Ellen (Flynn) McHale. Her parents; a sister, Mary Catherine Thompson; and a brother, Harry McHale, preceded her in death. She is survived by a sister, Sister Elwyn McHale, OP; nieces; nephews; and her Dominican Sisters with whom she shared life for 58 years.
