SINSINAWA — Dominican Sister Danieline Conroy died July 3, 2010, at St. Dominic Villa, Sinsinawa. The funeral Mass was held in Queen of the Rosary Chapel at Sinsinawa, July 7, 2010, followed by burial in the Motherhouse Cemetery.
Sister Danieline made her first religious profession as a Sinsinawa Dominican Jan. 26, 1938, and her final profession Aug. 5, 1941. She taught for 61 years, serving as a primary, intermediate and junior high teacher for 43 years and a computer assistant for 18 years. Sister Danieline served in Wisconsin, Alabama, Colorado, Minnesota and Illinois.
In the Diocese of Madison, Sister Danieline taught at St. Raphael, Madison, 1939-1944; St. Joseph, Baraboo, 1945-1946; and St. Patrick, Madison, 1969-1970. She volunteered at the Motherhouse, Sinsinawa, 2000-2005.
Sister Danieline was born May 19, 1916, in Chicago, the daughter of Daniel and Mary Ann (Fletcher) Conroy. Her parents; a sister, Mary McNamara; and a brother, Daniel Conroy, preceded her in death. She is survived by nieces, nephews, and her Dominican Sisters with whom she shared life for 72 years.
