SINSINAWA — Dominican Sister Salvator Falardeau died February 20, 2007, at St. Dominic Villa, Sinsinawa. The Mass of Resurrection was held in Queen of the Rosary Chapel at Sinsinawa February 23, followed by burial in the Motherhouse Cemetery.
Sister Salvator was born October 25, 1913, in Duluth, Minn., daughter of Joseph Edward and Margaret (Kelly) Falardeau. Sister Salvator made her first religious profession as a Sinsinawa Dominican August 5, 1943, and her final profession August 5, 1946. She was a high school and elementary teacher for 31 years. She ministered as a pastoral associate for four years and retired in 1984. Sister Salvator served in Nebraska, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Montana, Alabama, Illinois, Texas, Missouri, Minnesota, and Iowa, as well as Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
In the Diocese of Madison, Sister Salvator taught at Sacred Heart, Madison, 1952-1953. She served her congregation as secretary of the Southeast Province, 1982-1983.
