SINSINAWA — Dominican Sister Marie Donald Hogan died March 18 at St. Dominic Villa, Sinsinawa. The Mass of Resurrection was held in Queen of the Rosary Chapel at Sinsinawa March 25, followed by burial in the Motherhouse Cemetery.
Sister Marie Donald was born February 12, 1923, in Chicago. Sister Marie Donald made her first religious profession as a Sinsinawa Dominican December 26, 1943, and her final profession December 26, 1946. She ministered for 47 years in education as a teacher and a principal; five years as the prioress of the Motherhouse, Sinsinawa; and six years as the prioress of Trinity Covent, River Forest, Ill. Sister Marie Donald served in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota.
In the Diocese of Madison, Sister Marie Donald served as principal at Blessed Sacrament, Madison, 1974-1984, and at St. Mary, Portage, 1984-1987. She ministered as the prioress of the Motherhouse, Sinsinawa, 1987-1992. She moved to the Motherhouse in 1998.
