SINSINAWA — Dominican Sister Marie Colette Ryan died November 28, 2008, at the Motherhouse, Sinsinawa. The Mass of Resurrection was held in Queen of the Rosary Chapel at Sinsinawa December 1, followed by burial in the Motherhouse Cemetery.
Sister Marie Colette was born September 21, 1927, in Omaha, Neb. Sister Marie Colette made her first religious profession as a Sinsinawa Dominican August 5, 1948, and her final profession August 5, 1951. She taught first grade for 59 years. Sister Marie Colette served in Illinois, California, Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and New Jersey.
In the Diocese of Madison, Sister Marie Colette taught at St. Patrick, Madison, 1967-1970.
