SINSINAWA — Dominican Sister Robert Mary Wilke died March 20, 2007, at the Motherhouse. The Mass of Resurrection was held in Queen of the Rosary Chapel at Sinsinawa March 26 followed by burial in the Motherhouse Cemetery.
Sr. Robert Mary was born September 24, 1921, in Madison, the daughter of Robert and Helen (O’Neil) Wilke. She is survived by a sister, Lorraine Wilke.
Sr. Robert Mary made her first religious profession as a Sinsinawa Dominican August 7, 1941, and her final profession August 7, 1944. She was an elementary teacher and principal for 44 years. Sr. Robert Mary served as the business officer at St. Dominic Villa, Dubuque, for 10 years, retiring in 2001. She served in Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and the District of Columbia.
