STOUGHTON — The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is grateful for the warm welcome the new Stoughton “St. Vinny’s” location has received from customers and the community since opening the store’s doors in late August.
The large new store, located at 1509 U.S. Highway 51/138, replaced a smaller location — now closed — that the society had operated in Stoughton since 1991.
Grand opening celebration
A grand opening celebration will be held at the new location from Thursday, Oct. 3, to Sunday, Oct. 6. Light refreshments will be served each day, and the newest Dane County St. Vinny’s thrift store will offer the following promotions:
- The first 50 customers entering the store on each grand-opening morning will receive a St. Vinny’s refrigerator magnet printed in Stoughton’s own Viking purple.
- On each of the four grand-opening days, those completing an entry slip will be entered in a daily drawing for a $25 gift card.
- Special otherwise-unannounced sales on various categories of merchandise will take place at points place through the weekend.
- Customers using their VIP (Vinny’s Insiders Program) cards will earn everyday savings toward future purchases.
The new store’s hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Helping neighbors in need
Purchasing items from any of Dane County’s six St. Vincent de Paul’s thrift stores supports the charity’s mission of helping neighbors in need.
The same is true of goods donations made to the stores. The new Stoughton store features an enclosed drive-through donation center. Donors’ contributions of gently used clothing, shoes, furniture, housewares, books, toys, and more are gratefully accepted seven days a week.
Goods donors in Dane County may also call 608-278-2920 during typical business hours to request a free home pick-up by truck — especially useful for furniture, other large items, garage-sale leavings, and high-volume donations.
