VERONA — The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is grateful for the warm welcome the society’s new Verona store has received from the community since opening its doors at 513 W. Verona Ave. in mid-September.
The society invites all to help celebrate the store’s grand opening (Thursday, Oct. 13, through Sunday, Oct. 16) by attending a ribbon cutting Thursday, Oct. 13, at 4:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
Also, Verona’s new St. Vincent de Paul thrift store will observe its grand opening with the following promotions:
• Thursday, Oct. 13 — Those who spend $25 or more this day will receive a free, blue St. Vincent de Paul tote bag (while supplies last).
• Thursday, Oct. 13, to Sunday, Oct. 16 — The first 25 customers entering the store this morning will receive a refrigerator magnet shaped like a St. Vinny’s truck.
• Thursday, Oct. 13, to Sunday, Oct. 16 — On each of these four days, those completing an entry slip will be entered in a daily drawing for a $50 gift card.
Purchasing items from the store supports St. Vincent de Paul’s mission of helping neighbors in need. The same is true of goods donations made at the store. Donations of gently used clothing, shoes, furniture, housewares, books, toys, and more are gratefully accepted at the store’s donation center Monday through Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Goods donors in Dane County may also call 608-278-2920 during typical business hours to request a free home pick-up by truck — especially useful for furniture, other large items, garage-sale leavings, and high-volume donations.
