The Diocese of Madison has announced the merger of a new parish — St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish — as of October 1.
This unites the church communities of St. Francis Xavier of Lake Mills, St. Mary Magdalene of Johnson Creek (these two formerly made up St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish), St. Bernard of Watertown, and St. Henry of Watertown.
Watertown Catholic School is also in the parish.
A Mass to install Fr. Tim Renz as the pastor will take place on Friday, Nov. 1, at St. Bernard Church, Watertown.
At the Mass, Father Renz will give a profession of faith and oath of fidelity in front of the congregation, and introductions of the new pastoral council, finance council, and trustees will be made.
A future Catholic Herald article will cover the installation and more about the merger.
