VERONA — St. Ambrose Academy students will perform Meredith Willson’s The Music Man, April 17 to 19, at the Verona High School Performing Arts Center, 300 Richard St.
Over 50 percent of the school’s student body will be singing, dancing, and working behind the scenes to produce the story of Harold Hill, the dishonest salesman who charms and is charmed by a small Iowa town.
Some familiar faces from past productions will be on stage, with new actors making their debuts.
Matt Marsland will portray Professor Harold Hill. His love interest, librarian Marian Paroo, will be played by Sadie O’Leary.Two harmonizing sibling pairs, brothers Sam and Ben Galvin in the barbershop quartet, and Gwendolyn and Aidan Loop as Mrs. Paroo and Winthrop, will also be performing.
Angela Hineline is director and Dani Binzak is the show’s music director. Parent volunteer Diane Marsland is the show producer.
Other parents have key roles with co-directing, set design, stage management, and orchestra coordination. Student producers include Mary Donohoe as the student stage manager, Ava Balzer as the dance captain, and Maria Marsland as the assistant choreographer.
Showtimes are Friday, April 17, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, April 18, at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, April 19, at 2 p.m.
