BARABOO — Through its service commission, headed by Coreen Marklein, the Madison Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (MDCCW) is sponsoring another year of Boxes of Joy to provide gifts to children “who wish for just one gift.”
In partnership with the National CCW, the MDCCW has already distributed boxes to vicariate CCW contacts which in turn have distributed boxes to parishes, schools, organizations, and individuals to fill with practical items as well as little toys.
Those participating in the project received detailed instructions on how to fill the boxes and where to return them.
Additional boxes are available and can be requested through a link on the MDCCW website (mdccw.com), or by contacting Marklein at 608-393-0880 or csmarklein@gmail.com
St. Peter Parish, 7121 Cty. Hwy. K, Ashton, is again serving as a collection site for the boxes.
Boxes may be dropped off on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 2 to 4:30 p.m., or on Sunday, Nov. 14, from 3 to 5 p.m.
If you’re unable to drop off the boxes on these dates, contact Marklein.
The boxes are shipped to a national collection site for distribution to children throughout the Caribbean and Latin America.
