JANESVILLE — A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Sr. M. Ann McGregor, 70, on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at St. John Vianney Church, Janesville, with Msgr. Donn Heiar and Fr. Tom Marr officiating. Burial was in St. Henry Parish Cemetery, Watertown.
Sister M. Ann died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at St. Eliizabeth Home in Janesville after a long illness.
She was born in Bangor, Maine, on May 13, 1945, the daughter of the late Alan and Emma (Gilbert) McGregor. A convert to Catholicism, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady, Mother of the Church in Baltic, Conn., on September 1, 1981, and professed perpetual vows on August 13, 1989.
Sister served in the role of caregiver at the Health Center of the Sisters of Charity at the Motherhouse in Baltic; at St. Joseph Home for the aged in Willimantic, Conn., and at St. Joseph Home in Watertown. She was assigned to St. Elizabeth Nursing Home in 1983, where she held, the positions of director of activities, certified nursing assistant, dining room aide, and receptionist until her retirement due to ill health.
Sister M. Ann is survived by a brother, niece, and nephew.
